Peanut Butter Protein Balls

I don’t know about all of you, but I ways feel like I am on the go.  With a schedule like mine, I get to eat in between clients and at odd hours of the day.  I usually live strictly by the book, my day planner that is.  If i didn’t pencil it in, then I don’t have time for it.
These peanut butter protein balls are just the thing for me, they are quick, easy & delicious.  It is easy for me to take to work and just enough to fill my belly with all the extra protein.

All you need is:

1/4 cup of honey or (2T honey and 2T milk)
1/4 cup Peanut Butter
1/4 cup Energizing Soy Protein
1/2 cup Oat Meal
1/4  cup Rice Crispys

Mix the peanut butter and honey together in a pot on medium heat until melted.  Add remaining dry products into the pot and stir until blended. Remove from heat and use a cookie scoop to scoop onto a plate of tray.

Why Was I Tired?

 

This past weekend I couldn’t figure out why I was so tired. 

It turns out that I wasn’t getting enough iron and I was a little anemic.  I figured out that it is very common in women to be lacking in iron.  So I went online to see what kind of foods contain iron.

Foods that are a good source of iron include:

  • liver
  • lean red meats including: beef, pork and lamb
  • seafood such as: oysters, clams, tuna, salmon, shrimp, etc.
  • beans: kidney beans, lima beans, navy, black, pinto, soy beans, and lentils
  • iron fortified whole grains including: cereals, breads, rice, and pasta
  • greens such as: collard greens, kale, mustard greens, spinach, and turnip greens
  • tofu
  • vegetables: broccoli, swiss chard, asparagus, parsley, watercress, brussel sprouts
  • chicken and turkey
  • blackstrap molasses
  • nuts
  • egg yolks
  • dried fruits such as: raisins, prunes, dates and apricots

Most girls are lacking in iron, especially pregnant or nursing mothers.  It is very hard to get all of the proper nutrients that you need, even when you try to eat the right food. Organic food is hard to come by and if you want to get the proper amount of nutrients you would have to eat a mass quantity which is very expensive.     That is why I like to take my supplements every day.

There is a little trick that I would like to share with you to see if you are anemic (having less than the normal number of red blood cells). 

Take a gold ring (either white or yellow gold) and wipe it off on cloth material. Your shirt will do just fine. Then wipe it on your cheek.  If a black line appears than you are lacking in iron.110

I take two vita-lea with iron and 2 of the iron plus C as well.   Now, I know what you are thinking.  Someone has told you that iron will back up your system.  My mom has been taking iron during all of her pregnancies including the twelfth baby on the way. That’s right, TWELFTH! She told me that this iron wasn’t like any other one that she has every taken.  She has never had a problem with it.

Holiday Eggnog Cinch Shake

 

Within the next 12 weeks I will be sharing all of my favorite kind of Cinch Shakes. One of my favorite holiday drinks is eggnog. I love taking my favorite drinks and Cinching it.  I found this recipe off of CinchClub.com and I love it!! I hope that you like it too!

1 serving Cinch™ Vanilla Shake Mix
¾ cup nonfat milk
¼ cup light eggnog
¼ tsp. rum flavored extract
Dash of nutmeg (or to taste)
Dash of cinnamon (or to taste)
4 – 6 ice cubes

Week 1 of 12 For Cinch Weight Loss

 

Most of you might remember my weight loss post where I lost 19 1/2 inch on the Cinch weight loss plan.  I would like to say that since then I have been able to keep all of the weight off , although life happens. Since then my wedding has been canceled and I have had the stress of starting my new job.  Between turning 21, meeting my new boyfriend and doing a lot of entertaining for the holidays it is safe to say that I am not exactly not the same routine as I use to be!

I have decided to start another 12 week program and I would love for anyone and everyone to do it with me!  When doing a new year resolution it is always easier to do it with other people.

The cinch weight loss plan it so different than any other.

 

I will be going to CinchClub.com each week to get the 12 week planner, filling with helpful tips and information to help keep you on track!  It is free to sign up and you can only benefit from joining.

Here is the Cinch Club SMART way to diet!

Like Yogi Berra once said "If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else." Don't let this happen to you. Setting specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time driven (SMART) goals from the beginning of your Cinch Program is essential to your success.

S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Achievable
R = Realistic
T = Time driven

Specific
The more specific you can be the more it will help you focus on your effort and clearly define what you are going to do. Instead of setting a general goal to lose weight or be healthier, set a specific goal to lose 2 lbs per week or take off 2 inches on your waistline or to walk 3 miles at a challenging pace.

Measurable
If you can't measure it, you won't be able to manage it. Choose a goal with measurable progress, so you can see the change occur. Then pull out the scale, tape measure or smaller pair of pants and see how your goal measures up.

Achievable
If your goals are too far out of reach you probably won't be able to make the commitment to accomplish them. Your goal should stretch you slightly but just enough to feel like you can accomplish it with a real commitment. Then when you do achieve that goal you will feel successful and feelings of success, not failure are what keep you motivated.


Realistic
Realistic does not mean "easy." Realistic, in this case, means "do-able." A goal of never again eating sweets, cakes, and chocolate may not be realistic if you really enjoy these foods. It may be more realistic to set a goal of eating a piece of fruit each day instead of one sweet item. You can then choose to work towards reducing the amount of sweets gradually and realistically.

Time Driven
Setting a timeline for reaching your goal (i.e. in a week or over 12 weeks) provides an end point and a clear target to work towards. Without a timeline, you'll feel you can start at any time, and you'll lose your sense of urgency. Telling others your timeline also helps keep you on purpose. Ask them to check in with you at certain dates to confirm you're on track.

How to budget the new year!!

 

I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year!

I can already tell that this year is going to be great!  Filled with family, friends and a lot of amazing deals. To make sure I stay within my budget, each year I put together an excel work sheet to keep tack of all of my expenses.  It also helps keep track of both of my incomes, from the salon and from Shaklee!

Having a frugal life style isn’t always easy, although it is not impossible.
