Totally Tasty Tuesday – French Toast Casserole

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend, I know that I did. Every Sunday on our way home from church my family stops off at Jimmy Johns (a sandwich shop) and buys all of their day old bread for $0.50 each.  We use if for just about everything, today we made French Toast Casserole.  It is so easy and delicious.

All you need is:

2 loaves of bread
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 stick of butter
1/4 sugar to sprinkle on the top

477 Cut the 2 loaves of Jimmy Johns bread into small cubes.478 Mix 6 eggs, 2 cups milk 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a large blow.479 Pour over cut bread and mix together.480Pour bread in 9x13 pan. Cover bottom of pan with milk. Cut 1/2 stick of butter in slices and place over bread and sprinkle with sugar.482 Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.483  Serve with maple syrup or whatever you like on your French toast. Enjoy!487

  2. This looks SO good! We love JJ's leftover bread but don't always know what to use it for before it dries out too much. I will be giving this a try this weekend!

  3. This is quite good. You should add a little salt to the custard mix as well to help the final taste (or use salted butter).
