Apple Crisp

I absolutely love fall!  I would like to give you some of my favorite recipes and here is one of them.

The first thing you will need is apples.  I would say about 2 lbs of apples (about 6 apples), it should fill a pie pan.  My family loves to use Jonathan apples, they are the best to bake with, have the best flavor and become nice and soft!   We like less apples and more crisp because we don’t sweeten the apples in any way.  The only sweet part is the crisp on the top!

Peel and cut apples. We use this very handy apple peeler and cutter. It saves so much time!003

Have the peels go directly to a garbage of compost bucket for easy clean up.024

We then cut the apples in half and spread out on a tray (A pie pan works well too).011

Combined all ingredients (full recipe is at the bottom of this post) and mash with a  masher.018

Until is just crumbles :)022

Spread on top of the apples.032

Bake at 400 for 40 to 45 min.052

Or until the apples are soft when poked with a fork and the crisp is golden brown.059

Serve with vanilla ice-cream!!! We only had chocolate chip, it was still great!!!070

Apple Crisp

1/2 Cup Oat Meal
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Melted Butter
1/4 Cup Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Combined all ingredients together until it crumbles!

I hope you enjoy this amazing dish… Let me know what you think!!!! :)

What I Wore Wednesday #3

As long as the weather is still nice I am not going to bust out my fall clothes just yet.  Don’t get my wrong I love all 4 seasons but I never rush from one to the other, unless it is from winter to spring.  Winter is just a little to long for my liking.   Otherwise I try push out each season as long as I possibly can.

Summer is coming to an end and that means I will only have a few more WIWW summer posts.

Flower Pens

This past week I babysat for a friend. While I was there I noticed that she had the cutest flower pens that I have ever seen. I was looking at them closer and realized that they didn’t look very hard to make.

So… I went to the dollar store and I bought green florist tape, I used some fake flowers that I already had in my bedroom and pens from around the house. 039

Cut the flower stems off leaving about 1 1/2 to 2 inches left. 035

Hold the flower at the top of the pen and start to wrap the tape around to secure the flower.042

Continue wrapping the tape around the rest of the pen. 044

Until the whole pen is covered.051

Repeat for the rest of the flowers.049

When finished put all of the pens in a small vase and use as a center piece.091

I hope you enjoy making these flower pens as much as I did.  Altogether it only took my 20 minutes to make and only cost me $1.00 for the green tape. :)

P.S.  These make great gift ideas with a little note book !

What do you think, does it seem pretty easy?

Let me know how yours turn out!

What I Wore Wednesday #2

I am so glad that the weather is still nice because I am not ready to bring out my fall clothes yet.  Summer is the perfect season to dress like a lady.  I love wearing skits and dresses. If you take a look at my closet more than half of it is dresses and skirts!!! They are so fun and flirty!!!

This entire outfit cost me $13. Here’s how:139

My shirt was $5.99 and My head band was FREE (I barrowed it from my little sister Rachelle)Picnik collage

I couldn’t pass up this skirt for only $1.00 from a garage sale.137

The bracelet was $1.00 from a different garage sale 145

I got these shoes brand-new for $4.99  from Goodwill! 140

I am happy with a $13.00 outfit. Plus I love mixing and matching to make new outfits so when I am looking to buy something I always think about how many outfits I might be able to use it in that way you get more for your money!

What do you think, did I do okay?
